Golf Fitness > Golf Exercises > Medicine Ball Exercise Training For GolfMedicine Ball Exercise Training For Golf Ignites Power In Your Golf DrivesUsing a medicine ball exercise training for golf is as golf specific as you can get, to add maximum power to your golf drives. Medicine balls date back hundreds of years and recently have come back as one of the main golf training tools for improved golf performance. Core Training With Medicine BallOne of the most effective ways to train your core (torso) for a powerful golf swing is with weighted medicine balls. You can do many rotary movements that mimic the golf swing, but with the added benefit of resistance from the weight of the medicine ball. Medicine ball training can be fun and keep you motivated to stay with your program. If you were going into the gym and using the machines, that would get boring very quickly. This way you can literally think up new exercises during your training session. Partner Training For More PowerThe most effective what to add power to your swing is training with a golf partner, and releasing the medicine balls. Just as you release the golf club after impact, you would release the medicine ball in a throwing manner to a partner. This type of partner training develops your fast twitch muscle fibers, and in return can dramatically increase your golf power at impact. The more throws you can make from a rotational standpoint, the quicker you will see your power improve on the course with your drives and iron swings. Total Body Medicine Ball TrainingIf all you had was a medicine ball you could do worse. You can train and improve the strength of your entire body with a medicine ball. Total body training is very similar to the golf swing mechanics. The golf swing involves the use of all your golf specific muscles in a sequential movement. Training your body with a medicine ball will not only develop dynamic power, but coordination, body awareness, and overall stability. All positives when it comes to better swing mechanics and consistency. Using a medicine ball specific to your golf swing is the ticket, and that is why I produced my Golf Fitness DVD Package to improve your golf specific strength and flexibility right in your home with minimal equipment.
