You may think that all the Tour players have personal golf fitness trainers, but more than half of them don't. In fact, many of them rely on golf fitness dvds in their hotel rooms to keep them in shape while on the tour. I know that doesn't sound as glamorous as having your own trainer, but this is real life, and many of them are struggling to stay on tour, let alone can expense a trainer costing hundreds per hour, plus travel.
As I mentioned above, many of the pga players do their fitness routines right in their hotel rooms with dvds. It's convenient, private and very inexpensive. Many of the golf fitness dvds require the use of machines in a gym, which wouldn't work for these players, and that is why I produced my dvds to be done with minimal (portable), and inexpensive equipment.
With time being a crucial factor for pga players...being able to get "in and out" with your fitness for golf program is critical. You can do it in less than 30 minutes, and even in 10 minute increments if you want to break it up even more!
One crucial factor with a golf specific dvd is usability. Does the format give you demo type exercises, or does it actually take you through the session from start to finish? When I was researching the golf fitness dvds on the market, I was hugely disappointed at most of them. They all were only partially complete. Giving the golfer an exercise, but no format or follow through to complete a full routine.
I don't know about you, but I do not want to have to continue to pause a dvd to finish an exercise, before I can go to the next. I want the golf trainer to be right there with me taking me through the entire program, from start to finish! That is how I would think most golfers would want it. And that's how I've put all of my dvd products together.
Another issue I have with many of the dvds out there, and most pga players would not want to partake in, is any golf fitness program that does not incorporate BOTH strength and flexibility. One without the other is only half a program. Golf requires both of these attributes, and therefore should be in the dvd throughout.
I have seen these types of dvds all over the place! Some with only strength exercises, others with only flexibility. Now if you want to have multiple dvds, then that's okay. For instance, I have developed a golf stretching dvd that is excellent for achieving better flexibility, but I would most definitely incorporate a few strength exercises if that was the only dvd you had.
The gist of all this is that just like you, pga players use golf fitness dvds, only they are on the road when they use theirs. DVDs make it easy, convenient and time-saving, making the benefits far outweigh the negatives. Take a look around, but just get started either way.
