There is a lot of talk going around the golf instruction circles about the stack and tilt golf swing method. One of the more successful players on tour Aaron Baddeley is using it to much success! His teachers Mike Bennett and Andy Plummer are the originators of this method.
There are some obvious differences between this stack and tilt technique (S&D)and the more conventional swing. For one, the S&D is more centered right over the ball.
This means on your backswing, you do not move off the ball at all. The conventional swing has you getting behind the ball on your backswing and staying behind it on your though swing.
Proponents also like to say a more level swing!
There are many ways to swing a golf club, and god only knows we see them all on the course. You need to find what works for you. You might find this technique causes you to hit more slices and blocks to the right. Or...you might find you hit the ball more solidly.
A little experimenting won't hurt anyone, but just don't go overboard and ruin what you currently have. If you want to read more about it, go to Golf Digest Magazine.
