Golfers who think of flexibility should focus on dynamic, golf specific flexibility exercises to improve their golf swing. Doesn't it make sense to do very specific stretches that are closely related to the required movement in your swing? So many times, golfers are stretching the wrong way. They are wasting their time, and more importantly hurting their golf swing.
What is dynamic flexibility for golf?
It's not doing the "old school" hurdlers stretches you use to do in high school 20 years ago. And it's not doing those pain-inducing, torqueing movements people in yoga classes doing either!
Think of dynamic as movement. Do stretches that are not static or holding type stretches. In my golf flexibility dvd, I smoothly transition into dynamic stretches and then hold for a shorter period of 10 seconds or so. This approach is stilled considered dynamic, not static or even worse isometric.
Golfers know they need to stretch, but most never get started. They may have many reasons (excuses) for this, but if you never start, you'll NEVER see results! The benefits of stretching for golfers is enormous! The golf swing demands a higher level of movement-oriented ranges of motion. This is why dynamic type stretches are the most beneficial.
Making a full backswing with no stress or tension on your muscles will be easy after you do these stretches for a week or two. Maintaining your golf posture will be a breeze because your hamstrings and lower back will be looser than they've been in years. Finally feel what it's like to finish your golf swing! Look like the pro's after every shot with that nice tall full finish position.
There is no denying the extreme importance of flexibility exercise for golf, and I can assure you my golf flexibility dvd will quickly and effectively get you smashing the ball down the fairway, and not feeling that back ache afterwards!
