To improve your flexibility in golf you need to be keenly aware of your swing mechanics and positions in your golf swing. For every position in your swing, there is a flexibility exercise you can do to improve it.
The golf swing is one of the most unnatural movements in sport, and requires a much higher level of flexibility. The ONLY way to improve your driving distance is to increase your body's ability to make a FULL backswing. Many older golfers have a rapidly declining level of flexibility resulting in a dramatic drop in distance and power.
Thegolf swing is a sequentially dynamic movement. One in which every major muscle group is involved. Because of this... you must incorporate dynamic golf flexibility into your golf stretching routine.
Dynamic means "moving". That means you are not doing static or holding stretches, although there is a point in time where you'll be doing those also. Picking a phase of your golf swing and implementing a dynamic stretch for it is one of the quickest ways to improve your golf swing flexibility.
If your main goal is longer drives, you need to focus on core flexibility training for golf. Because the golf swing is rotational, you must implement rotational flexibility exercises to improve your ability to rotate fuller into your backswing, which will promote a higher clubhead speed.
Golf flexibility training is not hard, nor does it take up much of your time. In fact, in less than 10 minutes a day, you can dramatically improve your flexibility and see results on the course quickly. Doing a few stretches each day right in your home is all you need to do. Just make sure they are golf-specific to get maximum benefit.
