How about simple and easy exercises you can do in your home that won't even make you break a sweat? I'm not kidding! You just have to do the "right ones" to see an amazing improvement. Look at the one I'm doing in the picture. I'm in my golf clothes even! No sweating here!

Exercise Specific To Your Golf Swing

Here's my "little secret". Don't ever do another exercise in the gym! Ever! If you don't take my advice...you're on your own!

To infuse power into your swing, you just need to do a couple of simple and easy exercises right in your home. Let me say that again. Right in your home! Golf swing training couldn't be any easier!

It's Your Core Dummy!

Now don't take me too seriously in using the "dummy" term, but I hope I got your attention. Did I? Your core is the engine to your golf swing. Strengthen and stretch your core and you're "golden". You will be pounding the ball longer than you every have before.

But what is it with the core that adds all this power and distance? Here's my second secret all in one article. Are you ready? It's "rotational!" You've got to generate power from a rotational standpoint to hit it LONG! The stronger and more flexible you are in your core area, the faster your club is going to be coming into that poor golf ball.

Want power like Stuart Appleby? He uses these exercises!

Rotational Exercises For Power

Stuart Appleby is a perfect example of a player who is not a big guy, but uses tremendous rotational power with his core. He is considered a very "connected" swinger of the golf club. Everything moves together in perfect sequence.

Let us now take a closer look at the movements involved in a golf swing so that we come up with the most effective golf swing exercises that will impact most dramatically on the quality of your game.

The golf swing is actually a turn back (rotate) and turn through (rotate). Most of the movement is pure rotational in nature. This means doing exercises specific to your golf swing like a seated twist holding a dumbbell straight out in front of you is a very effective exercise in strengthening and conditioning the muscles used in the golf swing.

Golf Swing With Weights

Be careful not to use very heavy weights with your exercises. Weights that feel approximately 60% of your effort are appropriate. Remember that a golf club is not heavy; in fact it weights less than a pound.

Repeating exercises like this as many times as you can without straining yourself is critical. Do remember to warm up before you begin the session and also to warm down when you are through.
