Is
this some new, high tech term? Golf swing training? What the heck does it mean,
and can you really improve your swing quickly? I'm here to say...YES on all
counts! I will try to explain what term is and means and how it can dramatically
improve your golf swing, game and overall performance.
According to Joe (see left) training for your golf swing can get complicated and very confusing. Strapping on as many training aids as you can to improve your swing may be dangerous to your health!
In my opinion, there are just a couple of areas you need to focus on to benefit from a training program specific to your swing.
Your swing technique is important! I know I'm not telling you anything revelating yet, but just keep that in mind as one very important aspect of your new golf training program for your swing.
As we all know...golf swing technique (mechanics) is one of the most important aspects of improved golf performance. Never buy golf swing training aids just because they are well advertised and claim to be the best way to improve your game. Sure, they can help improve your game, but only if they are working on a specific weakness that you have.
Practice is something most of you probably do, but do you spend that time wisely? Are you working mostly on your swing faults and weaknesses? Are you doing the drills that isolate that swing fault and hopefully eliminate it? Practice with a purpose! Don't waste your time just banging balls! Go to your practice facility with a clear picture in your mind of what you are going to do; what you want to accomplish, and stick with it!
Stick to only one or two specific drills per practice sessions. No more! Anymore than 2 and you will lose focus and not be as effective in the drills you really need to do and perfect.

Don't worry! I'm not going to tell you to go to a gym and kill yourself! In fact, look at this exercise, you can do it right in your office like I'm doing with a piece of $20 exercise tubing. In your office! How's that for convenience and time-saving?
This simple golf exercise is one of several exercises in my golf fitness book that you can do right in your office. I have come to the realization golfers don't want to spend more time then they have to doing exercises. Hey...no problem on my end!
The important thing to remember then is to do spend 10 minutes a day on specific swing exercises that will improve not only your golf specific strength for more distance, but your flexibility to give you a FULL backswing with maximum torque. The return on this 10 minute investment will be drives up to 30 yards farther, and 3-5 more greens in regulation almost right away!
