Golf Training > Golf Swing > Perfect Golf Swing DrillFinding The Perfect Drill For Your Golf Swing
Are you on a never-ending search for the perfect golf drill for your swing? Every magazine has hundreds in them. Have your tried them and succeed? If you reached this page of a search for golf drills, then most likely you haven't. Why do you think that is? Target Your Swing FaultI can tell you why most golfers aren't successful when applying golf drills to their swing. Want to know? Is because most golfers just do drills for the sake of doing them, with no real sense of purpose. The reason for doing a drill is to cure your swing fault isn't it? Is your fault linked to your golf swing timing? Or is it something much easier? If that's true...then you only need one, maybe two drills at the very most to eliminate your swing fault once and for all! Doesn't that sound like a dream? It's not if you stay focused on your immediate task and goal at hand! Do Your Drill ConsistentlyShould I say that one more time? I think you get the idea. But why then...do most golfers NOT do their prescribed drill regularly? Lazy? Does't want to improve bad enough? There could be many reasons (excuses), but the ONLY way to see improvement is through consistency. Like anything in life..."do it until you get it right!" Perfect Drill...Really?I don't know if there is such a thing as a perfect drill for your golf swing, but as mentioned above, I do think if you laser in on your specific swing fault with a drill, you will have a much higher percentage improvement than just doing drill after drill in hopes for improvement. A drill that you may consider perfect will transform your golf swing long-term! You will no longer struggle with near as many mishits on the course. The day that happens is the day your enjoyment for the game explodes! That day is near if you get on with the drill that's right for you! And remember...a drill could also be a golf swing exercise to improve the muscles causing the swing fault! Simple, Simple, SimpleThe simpler you can make your swing, the easier it will be to repeat it for 18 holes. Isn't that the goal in golf. A near perfect swing for you for 18 holes? To play better golf finally! Man that sounds good to me!
First step...get the "62-point" checklist out of your head and implement one... maybe two drills that isolate your swing fault as mentioned earlier. Secondly, keep it easy in your head. Don't over-analyse it! In fact, treat it like you're an 8th grader. Make is so easy a teenager could do it! Golf doesn't have to be complicated! That's why so many golfers quit every year! Because they feel like they try and still don't get better. Man what a drepressing situation that is! Pick One Approach And Stick With ItRemember this! Don't keep buying more and more gimmicky training aids, books, videos and lessons! Stick to one simple approach and do it conistently! If you do, you will soon realize this approach is what you should have done years ago! Mike Pedersen |
