Here is a golf workout tip you must pay attention to if you want to play better golf, and not waste your time.
Golf Strength and Flexibility Is The Key
As you embark on your new golf workout program, you need to have a balance of both golf specific strength exercises and flexibility exercises. This combination will not only give you more power in your swing, you will eliminate stress on your joints that result in golf injury.
Many golfers think that a workout for golf program will bulk them up and they will lose their feel and short game ability. This is so far from the truth, that I want you to erase this myth from your memory right now.
Golf Strength Specific To Your Golf Swing
As you can see in the picture to the right, I am pulling exercise tubing in a golf downswing motion. You cannot get anymore golf specific than this. I am doing an important phase of the golf swing, but with the resistance of the tubing, making it a golf specific strength exercise.
There are dozens of exercises you can do with this golf exercise tubing, or a pair of dumbbells.
Golf Swing Flexibility
Flexibility specific to your golf swing is critical. Stretching just for the sake of stretching will not improve your golf swing range of motion. Every stretch you do for golf should have a specific purpose.
This is just one of a dozen golf swing flexibility exercises you can do for specific phases of your golf swing. Whatever your limitations may be, do specific flexibility exercises to address them.
Golf Workout Program For You
With this brief article, you should have a better idea of how to implement a golf workout. Tip your hat off to anyone you know who is already doing this, but I can assure you there are not many.
Along with applying a golf workout tip, improving your fitness specific to golf is the ticket and that is why I produced my Golf Fitness Manual to improve your golf specific strength and flexibility with simple exercises, stretches and programs you can do right in your home with minimal equipment.
