Are you always wondering how to improve your golf performance? Have ever got up in the morning wondering what you can do right now to improve your golf performance. What you can do between now and tee-off time to help you produce your best?
Well, here a few tips on how you can achieve that. Five simple things you can do to give yourself the best chance of playing your best golf when you are next on the course. Why not try them out? You’ve nothing to lose and all to gain. Here we go:
Plan your meals to suit your golf. You are going to need energy, both for an explosive swing and drive, and the endurance you need to keep at maximum power throughout eighteen holes. A complex carbohydrate and some good protein will do that.
An ideal combination for breakfast would be fruit and fruit juice for a quick kick, followed by cereal and then a couple of eggs for the protein. If you are playing after lunch, try fruit again followed by a chicken sandwich on wholemeal or granary bread - leave out the mayo and butter, and add lots of salad vegetables. If you can maintain this throughout your round, you will improve your golf performance while improving your health and fitness in general.
Keep your body supplied with a quick energy source throughout the game. Pack some fruit and energy bars and take one every four or five holes to replenish the energy you have used. You will find that you feel just as fit at the eighteenth hole as you did at the first. Not only that but you will keep your concentration up. Your brain needs sugar as much as your muscles, so keep your blood sugar levels maintained throughout and you won't lose it on the last couple of holes.
Muscles need water. If you don’t absorb enough water before your round your muscles will get dehydrated and tire easily. Improve your golf performance by drinking several pints before you start. Your breakfast or lunch will digest better and you body will stay hydrated. This prevents you from losing energy and concentration and keeps focussed on the job. Take a bottle of water with you on the round – you always see the pros having a drink while walking between shots.
Don’t use the first hole to ‘warm up’ on – it will ruin your round and there are better ways of warming up. It should be done before you hit the first tee. Spend a good 30 minutes starting with some stretches to get flexible – arm circles, slow bent knee toe touches, and so on. Try a few practice swings, then you are ready to hit a ball. Start with a few on the practice range before you head for the tee.
A great way to improve your golf performance is to keep flexible. Your joints and muscles easily tighten up due to the demands placed on them by the mechanics of the golf swing. Keep stretching while you play. A few stretch exercises between shots will make all the difference, and you will get rid of these aches and pains in your back that you always seem to get. You will notice a big difference, especially in the way you keep your swing right through the round.
These tips, if applied correctly, are sure to improve your golf performance
