Exercise Ball - Fitness Training For Golf

An effective way to improve your core strength and flexibility is an exercise ball training for golf program. This ball is also called swiss ball, fitness ball, stability ball and conditioning ball.

The main benefit for using an exercise ball when training for golf, is the unstable support base, which causes you to use your core stabilizing muscles more effectively. This is the safety factor message your brain sends to your muscles to stay on the ball during each exercise.

Exercise Ball Training Progressions

Exercises can be very simple to start off with and progress to exercises that challenge your body awareness and core stabilization muscles, as well as balance and coordination. These are all key elements in a mechanically efficient and repeatable golf swing.

There is no need to have access to the machines you see in a gym or club. These machines isolate one muscle group at a time, and in a controlled manner. This is not the same demands put on your body during the golf swing, so would not benefit you nearly as much as training with exercise balls, tubing, medicine balls, balance rollers and other dynamic golf training devices.

All Ages And Physical Abilities

Exercise ball training for golf can be taken up by any golfer, no matter their age or fitness ability. The progression would be at a level suitable for that individual. So don’t think you are not coordinated enough to get started. You would begin at a level of exercises that you would be successful at.

Exercise Balls Are Portable

A big benefit of exercise balls is their portability. They can deflate in minutes and can be packed in your suitcase easily. To pump it back up at your destination is a hand pump you would pack with you. The room these two items take up in your suitcase is nominal, so would be very convenient.
