Golf Exercises > Golf Training >Physical Training For GolfPhysical Training For Golf Will Improve Golf Swing And Performance
Physical training for golf is one of the most effective ways to improve your performance on the course. The golf swing is a physically demanding movement on the human body. The physical requirements for a repeatable and efficient golf swing include, golf specific strength and flexibility, coordination, stabilization, body awareness and the ability to perform this movement at up to 100 mph. Physical Requirements Warrant Training Based on these physical requirements, the importance of physical training for golf is quite obvious. If so, why do many golfers choose to ignore this, andcontinue to spend their hard earned money on golf lessons, golf equipment and gimmicky golf training aids that are ineffective? The Professional Golfers Are Doing It The players on the PGA, LPGA, Senior PGA and mini-tours are all partaking in physical training for golf. If they are, then why wouldn’t most, if not all amateurs do the same? The touring pros have a lot at stake, and now realize to compete at the highest level, they need to improve their physical capabilities. They all have great golf swings, but the bar has been raised by players like Tiger Woods and Annika Sorenstam. They have proven that physical training for golf is the key to longevity on the tour, as well as higher placings in tournaments (meaning more money). Flexibility Training Is Critical The first issue most older golfers mention is their rapid loss of flexibility. Most older golfers have not maintained their physical capabilities via physical training programs, and have watched the flexibility and strength specific to golf rapidly decline. I have been paired with hundreds of older golfers on the course, and the most common phrase I hear from them is, 'I use to hit is so much farther, but I just can’t anymore". They have this acceptance for their decline instead of realizing they can dramatically improve both their golf flexibility AND strength specific to golf at any age. In fact, the older the golfer, the bigger (and faster) the improvement due to their initial starting point being so low. Don’t Forget Strength Training
So many golfers think that training specific for golf is hard, depleting and will hurt their game. Oh... how so wrong they are. Do you think it hurts Tigers game? How about Vijay? Maybe Ernie. Not! They all do it because it is crucial to their long term success on tour. Strong muscles are more flexible because of all the fresh oxygen and blood that pumps through them from exercise. Strong muscles specific to golf, enables the golfer to have better control (feel) of their club with all shots in golf. Whether it’s pitching off the green; a hundred yards out; or on the tee box of a long par 5. Golf Swing Improvement The golf swing has physical requirements that have to be met to perfect a mechanically efficient and repeatable golf swing. You can swing a club all day long and not improve these specific requirements. You can take lessons, and gain a better understanding of the mechanics of the golf swing, but that doesn’t mean your body will be able to do it. A golf swing improvement program that incorporates golf swing drills, as well as strength and flexibility exercises will be the most effective golf improvement program you’ll ever device to see the best results. Longer Drives And Lower Scores The end result of a physical training for golf program, in conjunction with a basic understanding of the golf swing, is a body that will produce maximum power, driving distance and accuracy for 18 holes of golf. Isn’t that what every golfer wants? To walk off the course with a sense of satisfaction, they played close to their capabilities? Keep this in mind the next time you spend money on a golf lesson, equipment or training aid. Physical training for golf will give you the best return on your investment. Improving your golf swing is critical and so is getting your body to move better, and that is why I produced my Total Golf Fitness System, to improve your golf swing the quickest and most effective way!
