Everybody wants to know what Tiger Woods workoutis. He brought so much attention to it when we watched him transform his body and dominate the tour. At that point on tour, no one had stepped to the plate to replace Jack Nicklaus. Not until now!

Tigers workout is something every amateur golfer wants to know. They all think it's some special program that's never been done before. Having been a certified trainer for over 25 years I hate to spoil the party, but you could be doing golf workouts similar to Tigers right now!

Tiger works on his core strength

Tiger has mentioned many times he works on his core strength with resistance movements like the medicine ball, dumbbells, exercise tubing. He travels with a golf trainer who works him out throughout the entire week of a tournament. Yes…you heard that right! Even on Sunday!

Bench presses over 300 pounds

I have heard many stories about Tiger and one that is quite funny is that he bench presses over 300 pounds. I have even been on forums where people argued with me about it. Tiger at one point in time, may have bench pressed this amount of weight but I can tell you with total confidence, he does not do heavy bench presses in his workout. This would put his entire shoulder joint at jeopardy of getting injured. Not a risk he is willing to take that might ruin his career.

Stretching is a big part

I've read where Tiger is very flexible naturally, but now that he is putting a few years on, and has changed his golf swing several times, he is incorporating more and more stretching into his workout routine.

In order for Tiger to generate that much clubhead speed and power, he needs to maintain a high level of golf specific flexibility. He realizes this and works on this diligently.

Commitment to his workout program

As we all know, Tiger is very committed to every aspect of his game. The only other golfer that is as committed or in my mind more committed is Vijay Singh. I know Vijay has taken his golf workout routine very seriously and has won more tournaments after the age of 40 than anyone in the history of the tour!

Commitment to succeed is a must. This means doing your workout for golf program consistently. This is the ONLY way you will reap the benefits of a conditioning program for golf.
